Changes are things that matters in life.
Today I finally announce that this site is completely moving to another domain!
Since the success of some of my english articles, I thought of a completely new english website.
The main arguments will be, design, freelancing, web 2.0. Yeah! Also with OpenSource apps like Inkscape.
So move on and subscribe to my newsletter or visit directly NowSeriously.com.

After a complete (re)installation of Ubuntu Feisty Fawn (7.04), I started to find out some new applications to try.
Those apps are now showed on this page and ready for the installation.
I’ve included all the possible commands to install packages for the people that (like me) loves to do just a “select + middle-click” instead of using slow GUIs to do operations
Do you trust my choices? Then install everything.
With this simple command, you’ll download and install every application listed on this page from official ubuntu’s repository (packages included in the Tips sections will be not installed!) instead of read all the post ;).
sudo apt-get install soundconverter brasero jokosher sbackup thoggen pitivi disk-manager tracker gnome-compiz-manager
Here is a complete list of 10 desktop intended apps that probably you (will) need:

I know, I know, these days there’re too much ads on this site because of a bandwidth lack. Infact my current hosting allow me to manage “only” 10Gb per month and only yesterday I spent something like 6 Gb.
So please, don’t be sicked for the ads, I need them to enlarge my bandwidth-limit and keep up this site for more than other 6 days

This is a Step by Step installation tutorial for CakePHP.
Originally intended for Linux users, especially the Ubuntu ones.
What is CakePHP?
CakePHP is a last generation framework for PHP4/PHP5 similar to Ruby On Rails and Symfony in certain fields.
With this tool, you’ll be able to develop your web applications in a very rapid way, ’cause provides you a lot of functions and classes to manage data, template, security and many more things.
It encourages the use of the Model-view-controller logic
Here you can see a basic list of features (picked up from Wikipedia):
- Compatible with PHP4 and PHP5
- Integrated CRUD for database and simplified querying
- Request dispatcher with custom URLs
- Templating (PHP syntax with helper methods)
- View Helpers for AJAX, Javascript, HTML Forms
- Website directory independent
- Built-in Validation
- Application Scaffolding
- Access Control Lists
- Data Sanitization
- Security, Session, and Request Handling Components
- View Caching

These days I’m using a lot of SQL because of “work” and so, I’m learning how it’s a powerful language!
Expect for some updates on this front, ‘couse I’m developing something intresting..
P.S.
This is only a small update to remind me to see how Wordpress XML-RPC Server works
But maybe I’ve to wait for it.

Paul Armstrong delayed the release date of Awesome Box v2
Awesome Box v2 has been delayed. Don’t get me wrong, it’s all done, but I am in the process of redesigning this site and the launch of Awesome Box v2 will coincide with the relaunch of Paul Armstrong Design.
However, if you need a copy of the new version of this Awesome Thing, you should comment Paul Armstrong’s post.
Infact:
If anyone would like to beta test Awesome Box v2 for the time being, just leave a comment! (comment here!)
Bye.

I’m very happy to know that Paul Armstrong, absolutely one of my favorite web designer, is going to release a piece of his not-so-bad
collection of “Awesome stuff“: Awesome box.
This is a particular implementation of Yahoo! UI Javascript Library that wants to create a web image viewer like Lightbox but, unlike this one, it has a clear and simply interface (with animations too) and supports so many things like Photo series, long descriptions and other stuff.
However, in the upcoming release (version 2, I guess), there will be some changes.
- Complete cross-browser support: Will now work correctly in IE6, IE7, Firefox, Safari, Opera and others.
- No sizing tweak-outs: Occasionally v1 would not read the size of an image correctly. This is now fixed.
- Completely Rewritten: More modular and concise code will help with load times and support.
- Keyboard Navigation: A la Lightbox 2.0, keyboard navigation with the n, p, and x keys.
Paul is still searching for some new exiting features to include before the release so, if you have some suggestions, I think you should tell him!
